Nature Repair Market consultations - overview
The Nature Repair Act 2023 (the Act) came into effect on 15 December 2023, establishing a legislated, national biodiversity market.
The Nature Repair Market incentivises actions to restore and protect the environment. It aims to:
deliver high-integrity biodiversity outcomes
increase investment in nature.
Department consultations
We consult with stakeholders as part of the ongoing development of the Nature Repair Market. We also collaborate with experts and organisations to progress development of the market and make continual improvements, including new methods.
Nature Repair Committee consultation
The Nature Repair Committee is an independent advisory body. The committee undertakes public consultations on Nature Repair Market methods and biodiversity assessment instruments. Feedback from public consultations informs the committee’s advice to the Minister for the Environment.
