Overview

The Beef Cattle Herd Management Method 2015 is due to sunset on 1 October 2025.

At the request of the Assistant Minister for Climate Change and Energy, the Emissions Reduction Assurance Committee (the ERAC) is seeking feedback on the method including abatement potential, co-benefits, adverse impacts and potential improvements.

Through this review the ERAC will assess the merits of remaking this method.

The ERAC will consider evidence provided through the recent periodic review of the method, so stakeholders do not need to provide this information again. In this review, the ERAC encourages stakeholders to consider refinements to the method.

The ERAC’s advice will inform the decision by the Assistant Minister on whether to remake the method.

A workshop will be held in Brisbane on Tuesday, 8 July 2025 to discuss stakeholder feedback on the method. You may also attend online. Your responses to the survey may be discussed at the workshop.
