Under the Safeguard Mechanism reforms international best practice emissions intensities will be used to calculate baselines for new facilities and new products from existing facilities. The department consulted on guidelines to set international best practice benchmarks for use under the reformed Safeguard Mechanism from 19 July to 11 August 2023.
