Overview
The Department of Climate Change, Energy, Environment and Water (the department) published the ACCU Review Discussion Paper (the Discussion Paper) on 25 August 2023.
The Discussion Paper outlined options for implementing the second tranche of recommendations by the Independent Review of Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCU Review) to improve the transparency and integrity of the ACCU Scheme.
The Discussion Paper was open for public consultation from 25 August 2023 and closed 3 October 2023. Over 750 stakeholders participated in the consultation process.
