We did

We analysed the submissions and engaged with experts from industry, academia and community groups to help analyse the feedback. This enabled us to develop nine thematic issues papers to explore the topics further and inform the development of Australia’s National Hydrogen Strategy.

Overview

Australian, state and territory governments agree that hydrogen has a key role to play in Australia’s future as global demand for hydrogen is increasing. Australia has a natural advantage as a hydrogen supplier, but will need to develop capabilities to make, move, store and use hydrogen.

The COAG Energy Council Hydrogen Working Group is seeking public input to help inform Australia’s National Hydrogen Strategy.

Our discussion paper is designed to encourage conversations about Australia’s emerging hydrogen industry. The paper outlines hydrogen’s potential as a clean fuel and our approach to developing the strategy. It also identifies key policy questions.
