Overview
We want your feedback on how to achieve Australia’s ambitious biodiversity targets.
In 2024, we updated Australia’s Strategy for Nature 2024-2030 (the Strategy). The Strategy sets 6 national targets and 3 ‘enablers of change’ to halt and reverse biodiversity loss. It is Australia’s National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan which we committed to produce as a party to the Convention on Biological Diversity.
We're now working with the state and territory governments on an implementation plan to support the Strategy. This plan will help guide actions from governments, business, non-government organisations and communities. The plan will:
set the strategic direction for collective action
highlight current action contributing to the targets and enablers of change
identify areas where more work is needed
outline our approach to monitoring and reporting, including indicators
We are seeking your feedback as an important step in the development of the implementation plan. We would like to hear your views on the focus for each target and enabler of change. We are also keen to hear what actions you are undertaking currently, and where you think further effort is needed to achieve the targets.
To have your say:
read the discussion paper
take our survey now
submit your feedback by 11:59pm AEDT on Wednesday, 15 October 2025.
The feedback we receive from this consultation process will be used to inform the implementation plan and future action for Australia’s environment.
