It is essential now to protect this relatively untouched and pristine ecosystem in it's entirety. We are finally beginning to understand the complex relationship between the southern ocean and de-carbonation, oxygen production and temperature stabilisation. This unique environment is essential not only to help mitigate ocean acidification, changing climate and rising CO2 but obviously provides essential habitat for the many (some unique to here) natural plant and animal life of this region both terrestrial and marine.
Please provide comments relating to the proposed activity tables for the proposed Macquarie Island Marine Park
Activities proposed under this plan should provide for a much better management, longer term outcomes and hopefully contribute to minimal impact on this unique environment.
Please provide any other comments on the proposed Macquarie Island Marine Park
Monitoring, surveillance and interception of legal and prohibited activity within the park will of course be essential to this plan ultimately being successful.
