Consultation has now closed on the National Adaptation Plan Issues Paper, and the Department is currently reviewing all submissions received. Submissions have been published in line with privacy considerations.
To better prepare for an manage increasing risks arising from climate change, Australia needs to ‘mainstream’ adaptation action, drive private sector investment and support people and communities in disproportionately vulnerable situations.
The National Adaptation Plan will set the frameworks to drive this change, and respond to the findings of the first pass risk assessment. It will provide guidance on how we adapt to climate risks and build our national resilience to climate impacts.
If you missed out on this round of consultation, don’t worry – there will be another opportunity to provide your input when the draft National Adaptation Plan is released for public consultation.
