Overview

The Australian Heritage Council Sharon Sullivan Award celebrates outstanding contributions to conserving and protecting Australia’s national heritage.

It recognises individuals or groups who are making a difference through leadership, administration, or on-the-ground work across areas like:

  • education

  • training

  • research

  • policy

  • promotion.

The recipient will be announced at an Australian Heritage Council meeting.

Selection criteria

We welcome nominations for:

  • an individual or group that has made a sustained and outstanding contribution to conserving and protecting Australia’s national heritage over a significant period, at the national level

  • an individual or group currently making a significant impact, with clear evidence of leadership, influence, or achievement in heritage conservation or protection

  • an individual or group whose work demonstrates innovative, exemplary, or emerging approaches in heritage conservation practice, policy, administration, research, education, or promotion.
