Andrew Dyer, the Australian Energy Infrastructure Commissioner, led the independent Community Engagement Review.

The Review considered community attitudes to provide advice on the best way to maximise community engagement to plan, develop and operate renewable energy infrastructure.

The Commissioner also considered impacts on First Nations peoples, the environment, agricultural land, emergency management, social, cultural, community, tourism, business and local industry.

In December 2023, the Commissioner provided a report to the Australian Government’s Minister for Climate Change and Energy. The report included 9 recommendations to address community needs.
