This consultation has closed.
Public consultation on the draft Transmission and Infrastructure Licence Guideline and Application Content Guide was open from 22 April to 7 June 2024.
A total of 36 submissions were received.
industry developers
state governments
non-government agencies
existing users of the marine environment
individuals.
Following consideration of these submissions, we made changes to the guidance documents to respond to common issues that were raised. These changes included:
Recognition that projects at different stages may:
require flexibility on the level of detail to be included in the application for the licence; and
differ in the size of the proposed licence area to be applied for.
Clarification that existing offshore electricity infrastructure licence holders:
are not required to resubmit relevant information that has already been provided as part of a previous application under the Offshore Electricity Infrastructure Act 2021 (OEI Act), where no material change has occurred.
may refer to arrangements in place for an associated licence under the OEI Act (i.e. a feasibility licence associated with the same project) to demonstrate that funding expectations are met.
Clarifying procedures for and the assessment of overlapping licence applications.
The guidance documents are now available and applications for transmission and infrastructure licences can now be made. Thank you to those who participated in this process.
