Which of the following best describes your standpoint on the proposed area being declared for offshore renewable energy?
Please outline any benefits, issues or concerns related to the environment for offshore renewable energy projects in this proposed area.
We have proven time and time again that when we mess with nature, there are adverse consequences for nature. Wind energy is very noisy so how will this affect sea life, especially whale migration.
Please outline any benefits, issues or concerns related to onshore transmission, or the community such as traditional land ownership, the local economy or tourism sector for offshore renewable energy projects in this proposed area.
Unfortunately our government prioritises big business making money over environmental impact. The average Australian has lost faith in the the "sustainable energy" spin .. will this be yet another company that gets to profit and not pay any tax or make a substantial contribution to the community. For example, will this development mean half the coal ships? I suspect not. Big business will continue to prosper without paying tax while the average Australian struggles.
Please outline any concerns or regard for the visual impact of potential offshore renewable energy projects in this proposed area and any suggestions on how to manage the visual impact.
Total eyesore, but then again so are the coal ships. We do not need to be developing in our ocean, which is already struggling so badly with the impact of human / greed.

I'm assuming this development is not floating and will need to be anchored with drilling, reinforcements, permanent structure. Have we not learnt anything about developments like these. The only benefit would be if it were instead of coal ships, but to sell this in addition to is travesty.
