Which of the following best describes your standpoint on the proposed area being declared for offshore renewable energy?
Please outline any benefits, issues or concerns related to the environment for offshore renewable energy projects in this proposed area.
Environmentally, this will be a major eyesore & impact all wildlife in the area. Having such monstrosities suddenly appear in the ocean will be detrimental to the bird life in particular. It is well documented that wind turbines are very destructive to birds. Our sea birds will be at risk from such a high number of these.
Please outline any concerns or regard for the visual impact of potential offshore renewable energy projects in this proposed area and any suggestions on how to manage the visual impact.
This will be a major eyesore. To look out at the beautiful horizon is such a gift. To see a stack of these so close to shore is going to be terrible. They are huge & the proposed site is too close to shore. It needs to preferably not happen at all, or if it is to go ahead, needs to be 20+ km further away so as to not be as visible.
