Which of the following best describes your standpoint on the proposed area being declared for offshore renewable energy?
Please outline any benefits, issues or concerns related to the environment for offshore renewable energy projects in this proposed area.
Such an important project but there should definitely be lots of consideration for the ecosystems surrounding it. Renewable energy is 100% the necessary path to take, however, the solution should not be something that will become a problem we have to deal with further down the line. There are many points being raised about the lifespan of these turbines & the inability to recycle the blades from them. The disruption to the bird and marine life has also been noted. As long as these factors are taken into consideration & there are plans in place to take care of them, I am fully behind this project.
Please outline any concerns or regard for the visual impact of potential offshore renewable energy projects in this proposed area and any suggestions on how to manage the visual impact.
I don’t believe this will be an issue. Many are claiming that this will be an ‘eyesore’, however, many don’t realise that it will not be easily seen most days, if at all. It is a change people will learn to live with.
