Consultation on exposure draft of Amendment Rules

We’re now consulting on an exposure draft of the instrument Nature Repair Amendment (Environmental Offsets and Market Integrity) Rules 2026 (Amendment Rules).

The release of the exposure draft follows on from consultation earlier this year.

Consultation on updates to Market settings (21 April - 4 May 2026)

The government’s environmental law reform package passed on 28 November 2025. It included some changes to the Nature Repair Act 2023. The change allows for methods under the Nature Repair Market to specify whether projects can be used as environmental offsets.

We sought feedback on 3 issues papers outlining our intended approach to amend some Market settings that would apply to offset-capable projects, and to support integrity and administration.
