Solar air pre-heating for fossil fuel burners (for example see http://www.q-solar.com/Q_Solar_process_heaters.html) is a method which can reduce the greenhouse gas emissions without requiring the change of the existing fuel burners. A hot air conduit coming from the solar air pre-heater is simply connected to the air admission of that existing burner. Since the air is warmer, the burner will use less fuel to deliver the same heat to that process, therefore will diminish its greenhouse gas emissions.
Similarly, a solar water heater can be used to preheat the admission water for a boiler that uses fossil fuels. Similarly to solar air heaters above, this water preheating also does not require modifying the existing boilers, therefore it is a very efficient and inexpensive method to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Please formulate the method documents for the Emissions Reductions Fund such to allow the use of the solar air and water preheaters as suggested above.
Thank you
