1) Do you support the proposed Schedule 7 decision to prohibit the import, manufacture, export and use of PFOS? Please provide evidence to support your views.

3) Yes.
Loop Organics deals with beneficial use of organic waste via application to land including food waste and biosolids. We support the schedule 7 decision to reduce the unintended consequences of PFOS and its degradation products ending up in organic waste products causing potential harm to humans and the ecosystem after bioaccumulation in the environment.
When assessing biosolids against the proposed thresholds of the PFAS NEMP 3.0 PFOS was the limiting PFAS chemical is all of the biosolids we tested.

2) Do you envisage challenges in implementing the proposed schedule 7 decision for PFOS?  Please provide evidence to support your views.

No.
All of the organic waste products that we have measured PFOS in (biosolids and liquid and solid food wastes) fall below the maximum threshold of PFOS in wastes of 1mg/kg PFOS and related salts.
