Overview

The Guarantee of Origin (GO) Scheme is a voluntary framework for the emissions accounting of products and the certification of renewable electricity. It commenced on 3 November 2025 with the certification of renewable electricity and hydrogen produced through electrolysis. The scheme will be expanded over time to cover other products.

This consultation seeks your feedback on proposed amendments to enable certification of the following additional products:

  • additional production pathways for hydrogen, including gas reforming, and solid gasification and pyrolysis

  • aluminium production pathway.

In addition, this consultation seeks your feedback on proposed amendments to monitoring and measuring provisions for relevant parameters.

Your feedback will assist us to refine the emissions accounting approaches for these products, as part of the ongoing expansion of the GO scheme’s product coverage. The amendments include proposed changes to:

  • Future Made in Australia (Guarantee of Origin) Methodology Determination 2025

  • Future Made in Australia (Guarantee of Origin) Rules 2025.
