On Friday, 28 March 2025 the government assumed a Caretaker role. Some consultations have been deactivated until further notice, in accordance with the Guidance on Caretaker Conventions.

Thank you for taking the time to lodge a submission. The Department values the feedback received from stakeholders and the public. All submissions received as part of the consultation have been reviewed and analysed by the Department. This feedback will help to inform the further development of the Government’s Gas Fired Recovery Plan. Individual submissions will not be responded to, however non-confidential submissions that were lodged through the Consultation Hub have been made available on the Hub.

Overview

Due to strong interest from stakeholders, the department is extending consultations to run until 31 March 2021.
You are welcome to submit new or additional responses, even if you’ve already submitted input during the previous consultation period (which ran from 1 December to 26 February 2021).

The Australian Government’s vision for a gas-fired recovery for Australia’s economy will be delivered through a number of measures across 3 key action areas:

unlocking supply
efficient transportation
empowering consumers
