On a scale of 1 to 5, with 1 being ‘strongly disagree’ and 5 being ‘strongly agree’, how strongly do you agree that the draft National Roadmap will support Australia’s efforts to protect and conserve 30% of Australia’s land?
Please expand on your response to the previous question.
There are no clear funding arrangements for the short term or long term. How can the achievement of 30 by 30 happen without substantially increased funding to at least 1% of the budgets of both Commonwealth and all States? And even if it this funding does happen by 2030, without adequate funding for the future how will the conservation estate be managed.
Are there any gaps in the draft National Roadmap?
Please expand on your response to the previous question.
There are many missing elements in the roadmap including:
ways to rapidly progress landscape connectivity such as clear implementation of biolinks at scale and reliable on-going funding of existing NGOs working to develop and expand biolinks,
adequate funding for the National Reserve Scheme,
ensuring that all ecosystems are protected at 30% of there area,
restoration of severely degraded ecosystems,
developing, implementing and funding species recovery plans,
adequately funding of plans to control and eradicate invasive species plans,
long-term funding for indigenous protected areas and indigenous rangers,
properly protecting existing and future conservation reserves from infrastructure developments.
On a scale of 1 to 5, with 1 being ‘unclear’ and 5 being 'clear’, how clear is the draft National Roadmap, including figures and diagrams?
