Public consultation on draft principles to guide recognition of other effective area-based conservation measures in Australia was open from 16 March - 28 April 2023. A total of 48 submissions were received. 41 submissions have been published while 7 submissions were not published according to the privacy preferences of the authors. Responses were made in relation to the following questions:

  • Are there principles missing?

  • Is anything unclear in the principles?

  • Do the principles give you confidence that high quality / robust sites will be identified?

  • Do you have a view on the minimum long-term timeframe required for an OECM?

  • Do you see opportunities for OECM recognition?
