Draining Fitzroy Dock could have adverse impacts for the fish of Sydney Harbour. From watching the fish on a number of visits over the last 10 years or so, I believe the largest silver bream in Sydney Harbour reside in Fitzroy and Sutherland Docks due to a ban on fishing. Removal of this important fish haven if it is drained could have implications for fish breeding and populations within the harbour. No mention has been made as to the significance of this impact or how impacts could be mitigated. Has any marine ecological research been undertaken for the Master Plan?
