Would you like to submit any specific feedback on the proposals within Cockatoo Island / Wareamah Draft Master Plan?

Friends of Callan Park support the approach of the document identifying and working with the different layers of history. Also using the World Heritage Values as the framework.
Whilst overall this Master Plan is very good, it does not identify priorities or funding required. Thus, in the future, when decisions need to be made, the priority could become "what makes the most money or what is the cheapest alternative"?. This is particularly true if there is a principal of "Cockatoo Island/Wareamah must pay for itself". Potentially, "for profit" decisions could ruin the balance of supporting the site to individuals with varying incomes.
Cockatoo Island/Wareamah is public space and requires support by government(s) just as education and health services are also governments' responsibility.
Friends of Callan Park recommend reassessing structures identified as low significance for how they demonstrate changing patterns of use at this layered site. And reassess recommendation(s) for removal.
Rather than a structured planting pattern, Friends of Callan Park recommends a more informal style of planting.
