Would you like to submit any specific feedback on the proposals within Cockatoo Island / Wareamah Draft Master Plan?

I feel it is severely lacking in regards to its maritime heritage.
Both in way of educating and showcasing its past as well as continuing it into the future.

Sydney compared to many places overseas has a poor history of looking after its maritime heritage.

Many overseas ports make great use of old port/dockyards to both maintain/showcase historic vessels and have educational facilities as well as restaurants and entertainment.

Examples include
Trinity house wharf. London
Rotterdam.
Hamburg
Several Scandinavian cities
Bristol

Sydney has 3 large groups. The Australian National Maritime Museum, MV Cape Don society/Sea Heritage Foundation (SHF) and the heritage fleet along with multiple smaller groups or privately owned vessels.

They would all I'm sure welcome the chance to work together alongside the trust to develop part of the island into a world class maritime historical/industry precinct.

This would benefit a wide sector of the community whilst staying true to the islands heritage.
