About the consultation

The Department of Climate Change, Energy and the Environment has received an application for a permit under Part 13, section 237 of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act).

The application is to undertake close approaches to cetaceans using a vessel and Remotely Piloted Aircraft for the purpose of scientific research in Commonwealth waters.

How can I get involved

It is a 10-business day public consultation period from the date of publication, you are invited to comment on this application before 6 May 2025.
