e-Fuel / Reverse Water Gas Shift Reaction, Fischer-Tropsch & Upgrading

What is the emissions reduction potential of this product (immediate-term and future), and how would incorporation into the GO scheme support decarbonisation?

e-Fuel can be replaced or mixed with fossil fuels for domestic and international consumption and has high potential of the emissions reduction by substituting from fossil fuels.

How does this product promote Australia’s economic prosperity (immediate-term and future) (eg potential as an export product, investment, employment creation, industrial development etc)?

e-Fuel can be exported to overseas as well as liquid type fossil fuels, and it will expand Australia's clean energy business. New investment for the project and creation of employment are expected.

What is the product’s level of technology, production and market readiness?

The technology for producing e-fuels is under development by introducing pilot test facilities. The existing fossil fuel market may be available for e-Fuel supply.

How will incorporating the product into the GO scheme deliver beneficial outcomes under existing Australian domestic and international policies?

By exporting e-Fuel, Australia may become a leading country in the clean energy supply chain and contributes decarbonization globally.
e-Fuel can also be used in domestic market for decarbonization.
